Humility: Being Honest about Ourselves

“Christ has made Himself known to man through His own humility which so inspired St. Silouan in his yearning for God. It was humility that brought God down to earth. It is through humility that we enter into knowledge of God and His mysteries.

[…]  The first degree of humility is to know that we are sinners, that we are psychologically and spiritually ill and in need of a Physician to heal us. Then there is the ascetic humility of considering ourselves worse than all men, because we fail God every day of our life.”
