Transfiguring Suffering

“To be a Christian is to share, at one and the same time, in the self-emptying and sacrifice of the Cross, and in the overwhelming joy of the Transfiguration and the Resurrection.

To be transfigured with Christ does not mean that we escape all suffering; it means that we are to find transfiguration in the suffering.

The transfigured Christ offers not a way around but through.”
