To Do As Christ Did

“Look upon Him Who became

contemptible for you, and – if you choose –

follow His way, becoming contemptible

to the world, so long as you do so for Him.

More lovely than all things, He

became the lowest, despised, struck,

scourged countless times and raked

across His perfect Body. And then, amid

the sufferings of the horrid Cross, He died. For you.

If you suffer with Him, you shall reign with Him.

Weep with Him and you shall rejoice with Him.

Die with Him  upon the cross of wretchedness, and life is yours,

and, yes, your dwelling forever in Him.”
